Tall Trees of Portland book signing

My second book, “The Tall Trees of Portland” will be released next month along with a group show featuring all the artists in the book on April 3rd. This past Thursday night in the gallery we gathered everyone from the book together for a private party and signing event. Spectacular night to say the least. So much talent in one room. I admire and respect every single one of these folks. Thanks to Overcup books for publishing my books in a time when nobody gives a shit about books. Big thank you to Sizzle Pie and Gigantic Brewing Company for supporting the arts with the best pizza and beer in Portland. Thanks to my new gallery assistant Lauren for taking photos all night.

Forest For The Trees wrap up

Forest for the Trees mural festival has come to a close.  It was such a great week with an exceptional group of artists.  Yoskay, Joe, Dave, Tyrone, Kamea, Mhak, Enrico, Blaine, Zach, Gage, Mark, Taka, Jun, Marcelo and Erik; You guys are incredible and it was truly amazing working with you.  Thank you so much.  The city of Portland rolled out the red carpet for these guys and I hope everyone enjoys the murals.  I would like to acknowledge the ridiculously good job Gage Hamilton did in acquiring equipment, walls, supplies and sponsors for the event.  This guy is exceptional and it was great working with him on this project.
Artists are getting on planes, some are lingering for a while, paint is dry, hangovers nursed, sunburns treated and now sleep is required.
Check out the weeks worth of photos.

Opening reception and available artwork from Everyday Anomalies

Thank you, thank you to everyone that came out on a cold January night to support the gallery.  Check out the available artwork from Troy Coulterman and the opening receptions photos.
Hellion is only 2 years old and I am amazed at how my little hidden gallery has grown.  2012 was an amazing year that included shows in Tokyo, San Diego and Portland; the release of my first book “The Tall Trees of Tokyo and consulting on the first ever Japanese food festival in Portland.  I am truly grateful for all support and kindness. I look forward to 2013 and all the crazy shit that awaits!

Blaine Fontana & Amy Ruppel studio visit

There is so much good stuff happening in our rainy little hamlet.  I went by Blaine Fontana’s studio this weekend to check out the progress on his upcoming collaborative show with Amy Ruppel.  “Mild Climate” opens on November 17th at Art Whino in Washington DC.  Two talented peas in a pod.  Blaine and Amy have had a long love affair with nature in their artwork and together they make a bad-ass tag team rivaled only by the WWF.  Design excellence in spades is what they got and a little taste of Oregon is what DC will get.  We export the good stuff.
